IT’S ALL ABOUT SOUTHERN SOUL, COUNTRY, & ROCK N ROLL
Southern soul music. This is the type of music that artist and songwriter Christopher Foust has been cultivating and creating over the last 20 years. He mixes equal parts Chris Stapleton and Otis Redding with Lynyrd Skynyrd, BlackBerry Smoke, and the Black Crowes. Being described as the “Lenny Kravitz of country music”, Christopher Foust brings a soulfully southern vocal delivery with a stage presence and energy fit for a rock show.
Christopher Foust has over 20 years experience in the studio, on the stage, and in the writers room. A Nashville native, he carved out a niche as an “in your face” rock n roll front man and guitarist with acts such as ATG, Blue Law, and Kennedy. He later spent three records and thousands of miles touring with southern rock band Blackwater James, charting regularly in Western Europe and performing with acts such as Queensryche, Ratt, Poison, Tantric Saving Abel, and even David Allen Coe.
Christopher then transitioned into country music, focusing on performance, songwriting, and production. He spent 2 years as the lead guitarist for Chase Rice and began becoming a regular in writers rooms in Nashville. Over the last three years his co-writing and production can be heard in major indie films such as the Michael Madsen film ‘The Wraith Within‘ and Dougherty Gang bio-pic ‘American Outlaws’. He’s also landed cuts on other artists’ records in the pop, rock, and country genres.
This transition into writing and production was the catalyst to ignite a solo-focused musical career. The first release for Christopher is due in the spring of 2023, and can only be described as southern-soul, mixing the best parts of country, r&b, and rock. Some of those artists include The Girls Next Door, Ohio Valley Panic, Majestic Swayzee, and FOUST.
Ask Christopher Foust what makes the best music, he’ll hold up two fingers and answer with “In my opinion, you need two very specific ingredients to make great music: attitude and soul.” Those two things have defined Christopher’s musical career over the last 20 years.
