Christopher Foust’s ‘American Made’ Takes Center Stage in the Film ‘American Outlaws’
NASHVILLE, TN – April 26, 2023 – Acclaimed country music artist and songwriter Christopher Foust has added a soulful touch to the soundtrack of the recently released film ‘American Outlaws.’ Foust’s latest single, ‘American Made,’ serves as a prominent feature in the movie directed by Sean McEwen and starring the late Treat Williams in his final performance.
Released on April 23, 2023, ‘American Made’ is a testament to Foust’s musical prowess, with every instrument and vocal performance handled by the artist himself. The song, co-written by Foust and David Wade, showcases a blend of Southern soul music, drawing influences from the likes of Chris Stapleton, Otis Redding, Lynyrd Skynyrd, BlackBerry Smoke, and the Black Crowes.
Hailing from Nashville, Christopher Foust brings over 20 years of experience to his craft, having transitioned seamlessly from a rock n roll frontman and guitarist to becoming a lead guitarist for Chase Rice. Foust’s journey into country music saw him charting in Western Europe with Blackwater James, performing alongside renowned acts, and eventually making a mark in the world of songwriting and production.
‘American Made’ is not only a testament to Foust’s musical evolution but also a significant contribution to the soundtrack of ‘American Outlaws.’ The film, based on the true story of criminal siblings Dylan, Lee-Grace, and Ryan Dougherty, premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 17, 2023. Treat Williams’ final film appearance was praised, and the movie went on to win five awards at the Boston Film Festival, including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actress (India Eisley), and Best Ensemble Cast.
Christopher Foust’s unique blend of country, R&B, and rock in ‘American Made’ adds an extra layer of depth to the film’s narrative, capturing the essence of the Dougherty siblings’ story. As a seasoned artist with a distinctive musical identity, Foust continues to leave an indelible mark on the music scene, further solidifying his status as the “Lenny Kravitz of country music.”
About Christopher Foust
Southern soul music. This is the type of music that artist and songwriter Christopher Foust has been cultivating and creating over the last 20 years. He mixes equal parts Chris Stapleton and Otis Redding with Lynyrd Skynyrd, BlackBerry Smoke, and the Black Crowes. Being described as the “Lenny Kravitz of country music”, Christopher Foust brings a soulfully southern vocal delivery with a stage presence and energy fit for a rock show.
Christopher Foust has over 20 years experience in the studio, on the stage, and in the writers room. A Nashville native, he carved out a niche as an “in your face” rock n roll front man and guitarist with acts such as ATG, Blue Law, and Kennedy. He later spent three records and thousands of miles touring with southern rock band Blackwater James, charting regularly in Western Europe and performing with acts such as Queensryche, Ratt, Poison, Tantric Saving Abel, and even David Allen Coe.
Christopher then transitioned into country music, focusing on performance, songwriting, and production. He spent 2 years as the lead guitarist for Chase Rice and began becoming a regular in writers rooms in Nashville. Over the last three years his co-writing and production can be heard in major indie films such as the Michael Madsen film ‘The Wraith Within‘ and Dougherty Gang bio-pic ‘American Outlaws’. He’s also landed cuts on other artists’ records in the pop, rock, and country genres.
This transition into writing and production was the catalyst to ignite a solo-focused musical career. The first release for Christopher is due in the spring of 2023, and can only be described as southern-soul, mixing the best parts of country, r&b, and rock. Some of those artists include The Girls Next Door, Ohio Valley Panic, Majestic Swayzee, and FOUST.
Ask Christopher Foust what makes the best music, he’ll hold up two fingers and answer with “In my opinion, you need two very specific ingredients to make great music: attitude and soul.” Those two things have defined Christopher’s musical career over the last 20 years.
